Caela's 1st Bear Opening Day August 25, 2008 Caela and her 200 lb bear With Guide Jody and Dad Brian
Mike Cotoia with a beautiful bear August 30, 2008 Mike with Guide Jody Spiers Sr, and future Maine Guide Jody Jr On a warm September afternoon, after a large homecooked meal, you'll enjoy the amazing scenery in the St. John Valley area as you are driven to your bear stand by your guide.
Our sites are very active with several bear working each site. You have an 80% chance of taking your bear, and a 95% chance of a bear sighting. These sites are set up for 35-50 yard shots, which makes them easily hunted by bow, rifle, muzzleloader or handgun. We offer both ground blinds and tree stands. Each hunter is guaranteed 2 fresh stands for their hunt. We do not share stands among our hunters and we only hunt 4-6 hunters per week, to give you a better hunt and more time with your guide on a more personal level. You are not just a number at Bran Lake Guide Service. We welcome hunters with different physical abilities, and we will do what we can to make your hunt an enjoyable and safe one. We also encourage family hunts, and have seperate rates for your non-hunting family members. You will arrive for your hunt on Sunday, hunt Monday-Saturday and depart either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Your hunt also includes 3 home-cooked meals per day, Monday-Saturday, and Supper on Sunday evening at 6:00. After you've killed your bruin, you may want to enjoy our local fishing. The Saint John River area offers some of the best fishing around. You can fish for salmon, togue, brook trout and our famous muskie. If you prefer to continue hunting, you can hunt coyote from your bear stand.
