Bow-Hunts
We offer special rates for fall bow-hunters. Bow-hunting runs through the month of October. Bow-hunting around the old farms is awesome. The deer graze on beechnuts and the fallen apples from the trees that grow on the old farmsteads to fatten themselves for the fall rutting season. While you are perched in your tree stand with your bow, there is nothing like hearing the sound of a deer walking through the leaves that blanket the forest floor. During October you may also hunt ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare. Archery: October 2, 2008 thru Oct. 31, 2008 Non Resident License Fee: Archery Hunting (16 & older) $62.00 plus agent fee
Rifle Hunts | On a frosty October morning, the views here in St. Francis are breath-taking. Fully Guided Hunts: $850.00 per week Semi Guided Hunts: $500.00 per week Non-Guided or Non-Hunting Guests: $375.00 per week
Remember to pack your warmest outdoor clothes. | <><>

Hunting for deer in northern Maine is a once in a lifetime adventure.
Here in the Saint John River area, the deer are under low hunting pressure. With thousands of acres of clearcuts, swamps and mountains, the ratio of habitat to deer population is very high.
We offer a true wilderness hunt; no corn piles or salt licks are allowed here in Maine. Generations of local hunters have passed along a love of hunting to their children. They taught them to know the habits of the animals and to respect them; they did not kill for sport...but for survival. At Bran Lake Guide Service, just as at most of the local guide services and lodges, this tradition lives on.

The rut generally occurs in the middle of the month of November, and this makes the deer more elusive, but also more vulnerable to lures and calls.
The monster buck is alive and well here in the True Maine. He is cunning and adept at eluding most hunters, but someday you may be the one to outsmart him.

Muzzleloader
Even though you only have one week of Muzzleloading season here in Maine, this can be your most productive week of hunting ever. The deer are mostly finished with the rut and the snow is piling up. The deer are beginning to bunch up in their winter yarding areas. Many of the local hunters count on this last week to fill their tags for the season.
